MusicArtes Inc. is set to present an unforgettable evening of music and drama with their upcoming Opera Intima production, featuring Francis Poulenc’s La Voix Humaine and the Filipino dramatic monologue Boses. The performances will take place at The Mirror Studio Theater in Makati City, directed by the internationally acclaimed Sir Anton Juan, with musical direction by tenor Arthur Espiritu and piano accompaniment by Rudolph Golez.
La Voix Humaine, starring soprano Kay Balajadia, explores the emotional complexity of a woman’s final phone conversation with her lover, who has left her for another. As she grapples with betrayal, guilt, and love, Balajadia’s heartfelt portrayal, enhanced by Golez’s virtuosic piano performance, promises to bring this hauntingly intimate opera to life.
The second part of the evening, Boses, features Brigiding, a standout artist from Drag Race Philippines. Known for her innovative approach to performance, Brigiding will offer a raw and captivating interpretation of this contemporary Filipino monologue, adding profound emotional depth to the overall experience.
Produced by MusicArtes Inc., a leading arts organization in the Philippines, the event promises to be an exceptional exploration of both classical and contemporary theater.
